Our wrapped angles come in various leg lengths, thickness and overall length. Each piece is manufactured to aerospace standards using carbon fiber or fiberglass prepreg material and cured in an oven.
HOW ARE OUR TUBES DIFFERENT?
- Fabricated to a controlled Engineering drawing
- Manufactured in the USA
- Full tracability from raw material source to inspection
- Inspected with metrology calibrated to NIST standards
- Each shipment comes with a Certificate of Conformance (CoC)
HOW DO WE FABRICATE OUR ANGLES?
Each angle is hand fabricated starting out as thin layers of carbon fabric that is pre-impregnated with epoxy resin. The fabric we use has 3000 filaments per tow commonly known as 3K. To give that classic look, the carbon fiber tows are woven in a 2×2 twill pattern. The fabric is then impregnated with epoxy resin.
The material is wrapped on the outside of a metallic mandrel. This gives a uniform smooth texture on the inside of the tube. The outside can either be wrapped with a peel ply (great surface for bonding) or we can provide a glossy surface (cosmetic). Additionally we can polish the outside if you desire for an additional charge.
